Synthesis of boron carbide by the electric arc method in open air from carbon of various origins

چکیده
The paper presents the results of experimental studies on implementation electric arc synthesis boron carbide using carbon with different morphology and origin as a feedstock: fibers, flake graphite, obtained by pyrolysis plant waste, namely, pine sawdust cedar nuts husks. A feature method used is its an original plasma reactor atmospheric air working gas medium. Oxidation feedstock products in cycle prevented due to generation CO 2 gases reaction zone. possibility obtaining material containing micron submicron crystals graphite matrix has been experimentally shown. Also, information about features oxidation processes materials comparison commercial samples carbide. Keywords: carbide, synthesis, origin.
